Tools You will Need

  • Domain Name & Web Hosting – This is the only part where you will have to pay. Purchase a domain name of your choice and identify a reliable web-hosting provider.
  • WordPress – This is what we will use to build your website.
  • Astra Theme – We will use the Astra theme as well as a starter template to set up the wedding website.
  • Elementor Page Builder – We will use the free version of this drag-and-drop editor to customize our website.
  • WP Forms Plugin – This is the plugin used to create the RSVP form.
  • High-Quality Images – Select a few high quality images to use on the website.

Overview of Content Covered in the Tutorial

1. Installing and Activating the Astra Theme

Astra is a lightweight theme that is perfect for wedding websites. The first step is to install and activate the theme.

2. Selecting a Starter Template

Starter templates make the design process much simpler. You can choose any template that you like. However, in this tutorial, we shall use a free wedding-themed template.

3. Customizing Your Website

Customizing the website is the fun part. To do this, we are using Elementor to edit each section to fit your wedding’s theme. The sections include the hero section, our story section, quote section, event attractions section, form section, gallery section, when and where section, and map section.

4. Adding an RSVP Form

Create an RSVP form using WP Forms plugin. This will make it easy for guest to confirmation their attendance and also allow you to collect accurate RSVP information.

5. Creating a Stunning Gallery

This tutorial includes a gallery section where you can all the photos you want. A few ideas are pre-wedding pics, engagement photos, or sneak peeks of your venue.

6. Embedding a Google Map

We do not want your guests to get lost, that is why we have included an interactive Google Map to help guests find the venue.

7. Optimizing for Mobile and Tablet

Customizing for desktop is not enough! We have to make sure that users have a seamless experience when using their smartphone or tablet to view the website.
